Joshua Douglass Owens, 48, of Pendleton, Indiana, passed away Thursday, August 27, 2009, unexpectedly following an acute stroke at his home on August 26. Joshua was born September 30, 1960, in Hancock County, Indiana to G. Douglass and Carolyn Sue Owens (Rainey). Joshua is survived by his father, G. Douglass (JoAnn) Owens; siblings, Bryce (Steffanie) Owens of Pendleton; Tod Owens of Anderson; Amanda (Robert) Blackketter, of Shelbyville; Angus (Stephanie Spencer) Owens of Anderson Josh was a favorite uncle to his nieces and nephews, Jonathan (Ashley Baxter) Owens, of Muncie; Katrina (Justin Yeary) Owens of Indianapolis, who lived with him for some time and is expecting a daughter, Piper, in November; Amanda (Josh) Matlock of Pendleton; Zachary Johnson of Indianapolis; Zayda, Raythe, and Fletchyr Owens of Ingalls; Brydgette (David) Manship, daughter Lillyanne, Brady (Caitlyn) Borum, son Huntyr. Paige Blackketter; Ian Blackketter; of Shelbyville. Joshua is also survived by aunts and uncles, William (Janet) Rainey of Saganaw, Michigan; Jerry (Sue) Rainey of Bedford, Indiana. Robert Dean (Penny) Rainey of Pendleton; Carol Rainey of Bedford, Indiana; Bonita Rainey of Markleville, Indiana; Mariellen (John) Gilpin of Champaign, Illinois; and Joshua is also survived by many first cousins and one great-niece, Kylie Renae Baxter of Muncie. Joshua was preceded by his mother, Carolyn Sue Owens (Rainey) and uncles, Ralph Howard Rainey and John Wesley Rainey; grandparents William Lawrence Rainey, Bernice Reba Rainey (Turpen) of Lawrence County, and George L. Owens, Pansy Irene Owens (Douglass) of Madison County. He is also survived by his two special cats, Tartan and Argyle, and his very close work family at Rowland Title Company.
